Its awesome for a first attempt! Mine were never that good when I first started.
And elements, gosh, so much easier to use than CS5, so you've started with the right one. (;
In the ways of improving, I guess you could clean up the edges a little more. Zoom in and use a soft edge brush (maybe a 3-9px size) and take out as much of the really light outline as possible. It also helps to blend the picture more, so it doesn't just look like its been pasted.
Another thing with this is that you can see light where, if it was taken in that glen, it wouldn't be there. (i.e. the light on the underside of the horse). My advice is to add shadow using a soft edge brush, full opacity, then take the layer opacity down a little more. Another little part to make it really realistic is to add a slight shadow on the ground beneath the horse, using the same technique as the underside shadows.
